Fisker Task Tile: Simplifying Order Tracking
Redesigning the car delivery tracking experience with a scalable and user-friendly task tile.
Problems
Users don’t have a clear way to track their order status during the car delivery process.
This causes confusion and frustration because they can’t tell what stage their order is in or what they need to do next. Without a transparent system, the experience feels unclear and can reduce trust in the process.
Goals
Provide users with clear instructions on what actions they need to take at each stage of the delivery process.
Impact
The components developed were successfully scaled into a larger design system, creating a unified and reusable framework for future projects.
Challenge
How can we show key information clearly, so users quickly understand their order status?
Design Process
01
Benchmarking Across Industries
Before diving into the actual design, we took a step back to explore how other industries and companies solved similar problems. We looked at everything from e-commerce order tracking systems to project management tools, aiming to understand how they effectively communicate progress and guide users through complex workflows.

02
Focusing on What Matters Most
We focused on keeping things simple and intuitive. First, we prioritized what users care about most: their current status, what’s next, and when to expect their delivery. These became the focal points of the design, displayed prominently at the top.
03
Using Colors to Simplify Understanding
We also introduced color-coded indicators. For example, green means a step is completed, yellow signals that an action is needed, and red highlights an issue. This visual cue helps users quickly scan and understand what’s happening without reading everything.

Learning Insights
01
The Power of Simplicity
I learned that presenting information clearly and concisely is often more challenging than adding features. Designing the Task Tile reinforced the importance of prioritizing what matters most to users—showing them exactly what they need at a glance and avoiding unnecessary complexity.
02
The Importance of Collaboration
Working closely with engineers taught me the value of cross-functional teamwork. By aligning early on technical constraints and possibilities, we ensured that the final product was both visually polished and technically robust. Collaboration wasn’t just about solving problems—it was about finding creative ways to push boundaries together.
